Brightened up my entryway for spring with a mini makeover

The cold slate front porch and walkway are getting a little more sun each day as our Virginia spring arrives earlier than ever.  I fill porch pots with flowers from a garden store, really, the only flowers that they had available this early in the season. I bought Campanella,  wave Petunia, and a few succulents. This early start will give the roots time to grow and create a welcoming vibe on a dormant front porch. Those are ceramic snails that I've had for years and the purple succulent in the front of the blue pot is a 'hen and chick'-  I'll post more pictures as the flowers grow over the summer and I add/subtract plants.

My pots on the other corner of the slate entrance to our home. The bushy green plant survived the mild winter, I can't remember what it is, I'll know soon because it is about to bloom. Pink Campanella, Petunias and succulents are in the rear pot. Another pesky snail!

On the square slate entrance to my home is a rustic bench.  My amazing husband made it from a fallen maple in our yard and strands of a wisteria vine, also from our yard. He also installed the fabulous slate porch and walkway that leads to our front door. Did I say he was amazing? Oh - the rear pot has a miniature pine that I got at Christmas, and  on the left is 'creeping jenny' ground cover that does very well in Virginia summers. I like to sit here and drink my tea in the evening shade.

Well, that's it,  a mini front porch makeover with pots I had and a few new flowers. The leftover flowers I planted along the walkway, but that is a post for next week, the spring walkway makeover!-Enjoy your garden...
